Do you travel often and ride by place to other destinations? Do you feel secure on your flights with your usual trusted airline company? Well, all these are asked by many passengers planning to try an airline company to the loyal passengers. All these are only some of the benefits that usual passengers may ask.
Yet, there are more beneficial factors to consider when you usually fly often. If you hear about points rewards, passengers can enjoy it for a lifetime. But, there are certain things to consider to enjoy these factors completely. How to control those factors?
Earn points or miles for members
You may not be aware of the benefits airline companies offer when you are a typical airline passenger. Most passengers who are aware of the benefits that the airline company has have been enjoying these benefits, such as:
- Status points
- Asia miles
- Other extras
However, what are the differences between status points and Asia miles? Do they have the same benefits? Great question!
Most people wonder if status points are the same as Asia Miles. The Status Points and Asia Miles are rewards; they are the same with different names. These may be different in other airline companies, but the same in Cathay. Earning Status points is lifetime, as long as you are an active member.
Yes, Status Points rely on the membership since it can expire. There is an intended expiration on the Status Points when not used. So, it is better to understand everything before you get a membership.
Membership status
Anyone can get a free membership status. But, there is a way to qualify for membership status. If you are interested, here is the list of membership status points required:
- Green. It has no status points required. The membership validity period is a lifetime.
- Silver. It needs 300 status points.
- Gold. It needs 600 status points.
- Diamond. It needs 1, 200 status points.
From silver to diamond, they all have the same validity period (1 year). So, if you wish for an upgrade, from green to silver, you must earn status points.
After joining or getting a membership, you will automatically become a Green member. Membership lasts 1 year from the enrolled date up to your current member status.
The status points automatically reset to zero during:
- renewal
- upgrade
- downgrade
A new membership begins after those changes. Upgrade will happen when you accrue enough Status Points, entering the next status points in a year of membership. Multiple status upgrades will not be allowed. A member can only progress one membership status.
After you sign up, you can start earning status points and unlock membership benefits.
What do status points do?
Status credits will go hand in hand with frequent flight miles. While points or miles are redeemed for flights and some other benefits, the status credits will allow you to move through the levels of the airline’s frequent flier program.
Status credits reward your loyalty flying with co-partners. The more eligible flights tp take, the more credits to earn and faster to achieve status.
